    Physicians, residents and medical students in Tarrant County are eligible for joint membership with the Tarrant County Medical Society and Texas Medical Association

    TCMS and TMA work hard for you addressing issues important to physicians. TCMS and TMA provide:

    • - Public Relations to positively enhance the image of physicians and the medical profession.

    • - Opportunities for involvement in a democratic forum of medicine in which physicians can raise and debate issues, formulate policy, and influence changes to better the profession.

    • - Powerful, effective representation before the Texas Legislature and regulatory agencies on issues that directly affect physician practices.

    • - Reimbursement consultations assisting medical offices one-on-one with payment, regulatory and managed care problems. Two sessions are held each year at the Tarrant County Medical Society.

    • - Practice management seminars, with CME credit on coding, patient records, and clean claims. Seminars are scheduled regularly for physicians and their staff.

    The Tarrant County Medical Society provides a unified voice for the physicians of Tarrant County, advocating for our patients and our professionals

     Legislative Advocacy- TCMS and TMA work together as the voice of organized medicine for legislative issues. Key updates appear on our website and members can meet directly with elected officials at First Tuesdays and sponsored events and meetings.

    Physician Referral Service- TCMS provides online and telephone assisted physician referral for physicians and patients, sorted by area, specialty, insurance(s) accepted, etc.

    Rehabilitation ServicesPhysician Health & Rehabilitation Committee: Identifies and facilitates rehabilitation for impaired physicians through support

    Tarrant County Physician Magazine- The definitive medical magazine focuses on local and state medical issues.

    Emergency Preparedness- TCMS serves as the connection to Tarrant County Physicians in times of emergency. Using the latest technology and a constantly maintained database, TCMS is able to rapidly notify members of the latest developments.

    Special Events- Society sponsored events include New Physician Forum, Gold-Headed Cane Award Dinner, Awards and Installation Dinner, Golf tournament, Referral Night “Speed Dating” Style, and much more.

    Mediation Services- Public Grievance Committee: Volunteer members provide a forum for patients and physicians to resolve disputes. These services are at no cost and generally the most amicable, efficient approach.

    Membership Directory- This directory is free to members and list all members by name and by specialty. 

    TCMS has over 25 committees involved in the community and practice environment. TCMS has 21 delegates representing Tarrant County physicians at the Texas Medical Association.
