Texas Electronic Registration (TER) System

In 2007, the Texas Legislature passed HB 1739 that mandates physicians complete all cause-of-death information and medical certifications electronically. Starting August 31, 2008, the state’s new online death registration system, the Texas Electronic Registrar (TER) system will allow physicians to submit the required information electronically at any time or location with internetaccess.  Click here for more information.


Problems with payments?

Physicians looking for help in resolving payment, coding,  or other claims disputes with health plans should turn to TMA's Hassle Factor Log Programs.  The next carrier meeting is with BlueCross BlueShield and Trailblazer.  The deadline for submitting hassle factor logs and claims in August 22.  Click here for more information about this program.

Are you NPI Ready?
Effective May 23, 2008 the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) now requires full compliance with the national provider identifier (NPI) regulations. The National Provider Identifier (NPI) replaces the multiple identifiers formerly used. With the NPI requirement now in effect, it is important to have the facts.
