About Us: Who We Are

Are you new to the Tarrant County medical community and wondering what we can offer as your local medical society? Here are just a few ways we can support you in your practice and connect you to your colleagues:

TCMS understands that physicians need a community to share and understand the unique challenges you face. We offer physician networking events, family-friendly fun days, Women in Medicine CME courses, and Young Physician socials. We also provide residents and physicians leadership roles on our Committee of Delegates and Advisors in combination with other leadership training opportunities.

We are one of the most politically active medical societies in the country. Our physicians make a noticeable impact on lawmaking by lobbying for and supporting medicine-friendly legislation and candidates. TCMS is passionate about protecting physicians and patients from onerous laws and regulations. One of the best ways we do this is through First Tuesdays at the Capitol. During the legislative session, we host these events to allow direct physician and legislator communication; this is the best way for you to protect your profession and advocate for your patients.

TCMS is THE hub for information. No need to waste time searching for medical news. We keep you updated daily through Facebook and twitter, and monthly through the NewsFlash and the Tarrant County Physician magazine, in which we offer feature articles by TCOM students and many of our Tarrant County physician leaders.

Project Access Tarrant County is an innovative collaborative between Tarrant County Medical Society and Tarrant County Academy of Medicine that makes charity care easy for our physicians. Volunteer physicians choose how many patients they see annually. PATC handles everything from ancillary care, medical home establishment, hospital approval, and anesthesia coordination, allowing physicians to practice medicine without the burden of also providing case management services.

These are just a few of the ways TCMS can support you in your profession. If you have a specific question or area you’re interested in, we would love to hear from you! You can contact our Membership Director Melody Briggs at mbriggs@tcms.org, or call the office at 817-732-2825.
